Annual Conference

The GCMAS hosts an annual meeting to stimulate and advance scientific knowledge, promote professional interaction and collaboration among society members, and advance the field of gait and clinical movement analysis in the clinical and research environments. The meeting is designed for orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, developmental pediatricians, and physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, as well as physical and occupational therapists, kinesiologists, biomedical/mechanical/electrical engineers, and others interested in human movement.

The 2010 meeting will be the second joint meeting with the European Society of Movement Analysis for Adults and Children (ESMAC). JEGM 2010 will be held from May 12-15 in Miami, Florida USA. Further information is available at www.jegm.org.

The 2009 meeting was held in Denver, Colorado from March 10-13. Archived information from this conference is available at www.gcmas.org/conference2009.

The 14th Annual Meeting of the Gait and Clinical Movement Analysis Society was held in Denver, Colorado from March 10-13, 2009.

Friday Night Conference Gala

This year’s Conference Gala is on Friday night following the Clinical Symposium. We’re having a 60’s theme for this evening, with a live band (Wild 6) and casual dress so remember your vintage (or not so vintage) Tie Dye as you plan your wardrobe! New this year will be a happy hour/game hour prior and during the evening events. We will have two games setup this year; Rock Band and Dance, Dance Revolution! While we won’t have a formal competition (it’s the 60’s, man, chill out), you may want to practice your chops before the event.

Notes on OpenSim Modeling Tutorial
This is a hands-on workshop. Attendees should bring PC laptops with the latest OpenSim 1.8.1 software installed prior to arriving. The OpenSim software and three tutorials are available at the project website (https://simtk.org/project/xml/downloads.xml?group_id=91). The tutorials are an easy way to get started with the software, and completing them is encouraged prior to the workshop. Downloading the software will also provide all of the models needed to complete the tutorial. Attendees without laptops...please download the software to your desktop computer and complete the tutorials. You can pair up with someone with a laptop at the conference.

Winter Park Ski Train, National Sports Center for the Disabled

Travel on Denver’s famous Ski Train from Union Station to the front door of Winter Park Resort. Experience breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains from the luxurious club presentation car and pass under the Continental Divide via Moffat Tunnel (6.2 miles long, the highest railroad tunnel in the U.S.). Breakfast and beverages are included.

Denver Art Museum Tour

Private Guided Tour of Denver Art Museum (DAM) Collection Highlights, followed by wine and cheese bar at museum café. Please note that participants must be at least 21 years of age to consume wine.
