The International Association for Food Protection recognizes that students from around the world are the future leaders in the field of food safety. Since 2004, the IAFP Foundation has been dedicated to enhancing the career potential of exceptional students through the annual IAFP Student Travel Scholarship Program, which provides full funding for attendance at the Association’s renowned Annual Meeting.
For the 2017 program year, it is our pleasure to support the travel of up to 20 qualified students to attend IAFP 2016, to be held July 9 -12 in Tampa, Florida. Though generous contributions to the IAFP Foundation, scholarships will be awarded to students from North America, from outside North America and from countries with developing economies, as determined by the Selection Committee.
Deadline for applications is Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from IAFP Student Members who are enrolled full-time in a graduate or undergraduate program related to food safety. Past scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply. The criteria, which includes instructions on the electronic application process, is available below. Applicants are advised to read the criteria and application process carefully to ensure that all required documents are included through the Fluid Review website and received no later than the February 21 deadline. Notification of the Selection Committee’s decisions will be communicated to all applicants on April 4, 2017, and scholarship recipients will be formally recognized at the Opening Session of IAFP 2017 on July 9.
All Student Travel Scholarship applications must be submitted electronically at https://iafp.fluidreview.com. (Emailed or mailed copies sent to the IAFP Office will not be accepted.) Applicants will be required to set up an account as instructed on the Fluid Review website prior to completing the online application form. Please follow instructions carefully to avoid errors. Dedicated students are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity. Please send any inquiries about the program to Susan Smith via email or by calling +1 515.276.3344 or +1 800.369.6337.
