Winter Park Ski Train, National Sports Center for the Disabled
Travel on Denver’s famous Ski Train from Union Station to the front door of Winter Park Resort. Experience breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains from the luxurious club presentation car and pass under the Continental Divide via Moffat Tunnel (6.2 miles long, the highest railroad tunnel in the U.S.). Breakfast and beverages are included. During the trip enjoy presentations on The Children’s Hospital Handicap Sports Program and the National Sports Center for the Disabled. Graduate athletes of the program will also share their experiences. The train arrives at approximately 9:30 am. A variety of activities are available at Winter Park, including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and snowcat tours. Or take a free shuttle into town. See information below. There will be a number of opportunities to see our athletes in action on the mountain. The train departs at 4:15 pm. You can’t miss the warning whistle! Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided on the way back, as well as a cash bar in the car.

Zephyr Lift
Foot passenger lift tickets are $30. Ride the Zephyr lift to Sunspot Summit at 10,700’ where you can explore and enjoy the scenic views as you have lunch at The Lodge. A $15 voucher toward your food & beverage purchases at The Lodge at Sunspot is included.

Snowshoeing
Guided snowshoe tours are $39 (includes snowshoe rental).
Full day snowshoe rentals are $19. Self-guided trail maps are available and several people have already volunteered to lead some tours.

Snowcat Tours
Snowcat tours of the ski resort are $49 and last two hours. The tours leave at 10am and noon. Snowcats are heated.

Equipment Rentals
Equipment can be rented online through the Winter Park Resort Rentals website and picked up at the base. When you arrive, there is a separate line that only takes 15 minutes. The entry level packages are as follows:
Skis with boots - $27.99
Snowboard with boots - $27.59
Snowblades with boots - $34.39

Winter Park, Colorado
Free shuttles into the town of Winter Park. In town, you can rent ice skates from Christy Sports at Cooper Creek Square (in the heart of downtown) for $5 and skate for free. Cooper Creek has 20 shops and restaurants.
