Awards
Several awards are presented at the annual conference to recognize exemplary scientific achievement. The Awards Committee is responsible for the selection and presentation of the Best Paper, Best Poster, and Young Investigator awards, as well as the nomination and presentation of Lifetime Achievement Awards. The committee is composed of members from across the professional disciplines associated with movement analysis, and each member serve a two-year term.
Best Paper
This award is for podium presentations only, which are judged on scientific merit and relevance to the society. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted for podium presentation are eligible to be considered for this award. Following the conference, the authors of the top presentations are asked to compile their work as a full manuscript; these manuscripts are reviewed and a final winner chosen. The winning manuscript is published in Gait and Posture, and the authors receive $250 from the publisher and a certificate from the society.
Best Poster
Judging of this award will be based on scientific merit and relevance to the society. The winning author receives a monetary award of $100 and a certificate, both from the society. The winner is announced during the closing session of the conference.
Young Investigator Award
This award goes to the highest placed podium presentation by a student. The winner is announced during the closing session of the conference, and receives a certificate and up to $1000 to cover travel to the following year's conference. To be eligible for this award, the investigator must be a registered student at the time of abstract submission, must be the first author on the abstract, and must give the podium presentation.
